Cologne

After climbing all the way to the top, Blaine and I rewarded ourselves with a beverage down by the Rhine.

I have no shots of the gig, but all I can say is that it was the smokiest room I've played in a long time.  It's called Harmonie in Bonn, Germany.

We popped into this Bier joint and were greeted by a rather salty bartender (bitter-beer-face)and an automated oom-pah duo.

Here's a shot of the author and Dennis Mays, our front of house sound technician in front of the cathedral.  Dennis is one of the best in the business.  His list of credits is endless! Includes multiple Fleetwood Mac tours and American Idol.  Rock on Mays!

The architectural details are astounding.  Everywhere you look there is something interesting like this door handle.

This is the most compelling image I found. It portrays the cathedral in 1945 and present day.  Much of Cologne was levelled during the war.  The church itself sustained 14 hits, but still stands

The Cologne Cathedral is world famous.  It boasts the largest facade of any gothic cathedral.  It took around 600 years to complete and was started in the 1200's.  It is the dominant feature of the Cologne (or Koln) landscape.  Blaine and I had a couple of hours to kill so we thought we might venture up the 600 or so steps to the top.
